Our PHSF team is made up of six different committees which each have a different role in coming together to bring public health to the people.
The conference committee is mainly in charge of organizing the Applied Experience in the fall semester and the annual Conference in the spring. This includes inviting speakers and panelists.
The events committee is in charge of organizing smaller scale events throughout the year. These range from trivia nights to speaker events on topical issues.
The mentoring committee is in charge of the JHU and JHSPH mentoring program. This connects undergraduate students with graduate students from Bloomberg and organizes socials to help facilitate the mentor-mentee bond.
The publicity committee heads outreach and marketing for the group. They design materials for dissemination and help keep the student body aware of ongoing events and programs.
The social committee is in charge of our condom initiative, which involves giving students access to condoms and information on safe sexual practices, and organizes events that focus on some peer-to-peer and PHS department academic advising.
The finance committee handles budgeting and reimbursements. This committee also does grant writing and applications.
